Tonight, it’s the 36th annual Ralph Latham Memorial in Union, Kentucky. The half-mile dirt track of Florence Speedway is set to host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

Ricky Thornton Jr and Earl Pearson Jr set the front row. 60 laps of dirt late model racing are up next…

Green flag, Pearson Jr knocks the cushion in turn one and he leads off turn two. Thornton Jr holds 2nd and he moves right to the top.

Lap 7, the leaders are all glued to the top. Josh Rice is the car on the move early. Rice slides Hudson O’Neal for 6th after starting 9th.

Lap 10, Earl Pearson Jr has caught the tail of the field.

Lap 15, Garrett Alberson is all over the bumper of Robby Hensley for 3rd. Josh Rice closes on both of them. Rice drives right by Alberson for 4th.

Lap 17, Rice takes Hensley three wide with lap traffic in turn four. Rice to 3rd from 9th!

Lap 19, Thornton Jr has closed to the bumper of Pearson Jr in the battle for the lead. He diamonds the exit and gets a run but can’t complete the pass.

Lap 20, Robby Hensley slows, caution.

Green, Pearson leads. Rice slides Thornton Jr for 2nd into turn three. Thornton Jr slides him back into turn one. Rice slides Thornton Jr once more into turn three, Rice takes 2nd away.

Lap 22, Thornton Jr slides Rice, Rice crosses under him. They make light contact down the back, Rice holds 2nd.

Lap 25, Rice is on the bumper of Pearson Jr! He jumps the cushion in turn one but stays in the gas.

Lap 26, Rice drives it deep to the bottom in turn three. He slides Pearson Jr for the lead. Pearson tries to cross under him but he can’t clear him. Rice from 9th to the lead.

Lap 27, caution for debris. Pearson Jr heads to the pit area with a mechanical issue.

Lap 45, Josh Rice leads Thornton Jr by 2.5 seconds.
