Credit card machines are not working at area post offices, requiring those mailing letters or packages, or buying stamps, to use cash or checks.
An employee of a Worthington post office said that machines had been unavailable Wednesday only, and that they would back online on Thursday.
"All the credit card machines are shut down across the country due to a system upgrade," said the employee, who was not authorized to speak to the media.
The employee's supervisor told The Dispatch that he hadn't heard how long the shutdown would last.
"I don't know if it's just today or how long it will be," said the supervisor, also not authorized to speak.
