IN a bid to deliver on the government’s cashless economy and financial inclusion, Azania Bank Limited has introduced its point of sale services dubbed, ‘Tap & Go.

Azania Bank’s manager, digital banking, Vinesh Davda (C) accompanied by the bank’s sales manager, Allan Msalilwa and relations manager, Halima Semhunge display a sale machine during the launch of tap and go digital payment services in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam yesterday during the launch, Azania Bank’s Digital Banking Manager, Vinesh Davda said clients will use bank cards enabled with Visa, UnionPay, Mastercard and Umoja to pay for goods and services through the point of sale (PoS) machine.

“As a bank which appreciates support received from customers for many years, we have decided to launch this digital payment solution to ease transactions,” Davda said while adding that the Tap & Go service will enable Tanzanians to avoid paying by cash which is both risky and involved.

He revealed that the Dar es Salaam based lender which is owned by pension funds has supplied the PoS machines throughout the country to ensure that the service is readily available to Tanzanians from all walks of life.

“The bank has heavily invested in digital payment solutions which will allow clients and other Tanzanians to easily pay for goods and services worldwide,” Davda underlined saying for the past 27 years, Azania Bank has received strong support from Tanzanians.

He stressed that the latest digital services will also allow Tanzanians to join their peers globally in online purchase and transactions. “This service also incorporates our local card known as Umoja,” he stated.
