Samsung has announced a couple of new rugged devices for enterprise customers in the USA. The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro and the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro are now official stateside, with one device hitting the market today.

The Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro is the first to go on sale through Samsung’s business portal, as well as via Amazon Business and other tier one and tier two IT channel partners. The rugged tablet is available starting today for $649 and up. The base model has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, but the company also offers a 6GB variant with 128GB of storage for $709. Both can be acquired with Wi-Fi-only connectivity or 5G, supporting Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile networks. The 5G variants cost $759 and $819, respectively.

Samsung’s latest rugged tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset. It’s equipped with a 10.1-inch display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a peak brightness of 550 nits. The panel supports the S Pen and the tablet ships with Samsung DeX.

On its own, the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro has an IP68 rating, but Samsung wrapped the tablet in a MIL-STD 810H anti-shock case. Other unique features include a user-replaceable 7,600mAh battery and mPOS-ready NFC support. The tablet ships with Android 12 and includes 1 year of Knox Suite. Samsung guarantees three OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

The second rugged Galaxy device coming to the USA is the XCover 6 Pro smartphone. The company hasn’t revealed the launch price for the US market, but the phone will be available through Samsung’s online shop starting October 20.

Also shipping with Android 12, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro will receive four OS upgrades. The phone is powered by the same Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset as its tablet counterpart. It will be offered with one memory configuration consisting of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The rugged Samsung smartphone has a 6.6-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 2408 x 1080 and an Infinity-V cutout for the 13MP selfie camera. Speaking of which, the phone also carries a 50MP wide sensor on the back panel, next to an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

Likewise, the phone has mPOS-Ready NFC connectivity, an IP68 rating, and a MIL-STD-810H-certified construction. The user-replaceable battery clocks in at 4,050mAh.

Both the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro and the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro come with basic features such as expandable storage via microSD and a 3.5mm headphone port.
